Puppy care

Puppies are very sensitive. Before our pet friend comes to the living area, a complete cleaning should be done and chemical cleaning materials should be rinsed. There should be no intense odor in the house. Puppies brought home are first kept in a restricted area. This area includes a pad for feces, clean drinking water, and fresh puppy food. It is monitored for 7-10 days and vaccination is not performed during this period. The observation period is important to detect whether the pup is sick and to wait for the new environmental stress to end. The puppy should not be walked outside without being vaccinated, and there should be no animal contact. Communication with too many people outside the household should be prevented. Individuals coming from outside should not come into contact with the puppy without washing their hands and wearing clean clothes. Their immune systems are very weak.

Puppies are very sensitive. Before our pet friend comes to the living area, a complete cleaning should be done and chemical cleaning materials should be rinsed. There should be no intense odor in the house. A veterinary clinic location should be determined and then it is best not to choose a new place to avoid increasing the stress of the puppy. First, internal and external parasite treatments are performed and then the vaccination schedule begins. If a disease symptom is observed, it should be treated first. Sick individuals cannot be vaccinated. The only legally mandatory vaccination is the rabies vaccine and it is repeated every year. Other vaccines protect against deadly viral and bacterial diseases. These vaccines are among the measures taken to prevent a fatal disease process and their implementation is essential.

Puppy feces may be softer and lighter in color than adult feces. If there is any change outside of normal, the feces should first be photographed and then placed in a clean sample container and an expert opinion should be sought. Bone development occurs very quickly in medium and large breeds. Teeth change may occur in some breeds, although it varies individually.

Appropriate nutrition should be selected to support bone health in these breeds. If bones develop faster than muscles, anomalies may occur. In order to avoid this situation, the appropriate training duration and intensity should be determined according to breed and temperament characteristics.

In small breeds, the immune system during the puppy period is lower than other breeds. There may be more sleeping time during the day. Vigorous and long-term games should be avoided during contact. Puppies should not be bathed before they are included in the vaccination program. This includes observation time. Body temperatures are sensitive and can easily leave the required level. It may cause a painful process afterwards. He/she should have a soft bed to use for sleep and rest, and his/her personal space should be respected. Games that involve biting during the puppy period may cause problems in the future. Baby animals do not hurt because their jaw muscles and teeth are not yet developed enough, but when they grow up with such games, they continue to play at the same rate because they did not learn that it hurts when they were young.

If space restrictions are applied to dogs kept at home, their direct contact with parquet or tiles should be cut off. Dogs kept outdoors should never be forced to walk on concrete. Activities such as jumping on stairs and chairs during the period when bone development is rapid may cause misdirection during bone development. Puppies should not be held too much and should not be played with by bouncing them. Dogs should not be picked up by their arms or armpits. They do not have collarbones like in humans, and their arms are connected to the body with muscles. He can get hurt easily. It should be socialized immediately at the socialization age (4-5 months). Otherwise, they will have an aggressive and nervous nature. Brute force should never be used in dog training. Commands should be given in a low and determined voice and rewarded with a game or treat when carried out. Commands should be simple and short. Dogs have mathematical intelligence that is open to development. They are good at detecting emotional states. Puppies should eat a measured meal at designated times of the day, dividing it into 2-3 portions. Water should always be accessible and clean. Food and water bowls should be cleaned every day.
